Early Career in Investment Management

Patrick began his career in 1998 as an investment analyst at Prudential Capital Group and Prudential Securities. In that role, he specialized in commercial property and publicly traded real estate investment trusts. This early experience placed him in the real estate and capital markets sectors, where he developed a foundation in financial analysis, asset valuation, and investment research.

Six years later, he joined Deutsche Bank, where he served as vice president of investment banking. At the German multinational bank and financial services company, he worked within a broader institutional finance environment before moving into hedge fund management. He later relocated to Illinois and joined a hedge fund, where he specialized in long-short equity. His career then led him to PWK Partners in Chicago, where he served as a managing partner.

He has held numerous board, chair, and committee positions across well-known companies during his decades-long career.

Nation’s Restaurant News named him to its 2015 Power List, which recognized 50 influential people in the restaurant industry that year. His inclusion reflected his role in finance, operations, and strategic oversight within the food service sector.

His board experience also includes serving on the board of directors of BJ’s Restaurants, Inc., and serving as chairman of the board of Town Sports International. Across these roles, he has applied experience in corporate structure, capital deployment, investment analysis, and strategic planning.
